Cleaning the "Mammutico"® foam is quick and easy—all you need is water, a mild detergent, or a steam cleaner to get the blocks ready to play with again. This makes keeping them clean effortless, and your facility gains a safe and always hygienic tool for working with children.
Cleaning and Disinfection
The information found in every instruction manual included with our products states: “Loose pieces of the Mammutico® sets and the plastic packaging (if any) can be washed with water, a mild soap solution, alcohol-based disinfectants, or a steam cleaner. A soft sponge may be used to remove stains or dirt. The use of strong cleaning agents (e.g., chlorine-based) is not recommended for the safety of children. Test the cleaning agent on a small area of the brick first.”
The content of the above information is clear and straightforward. The attached video also leaves no room for doubt. Nevertheless, Mammutico blocks are quite large and come in big sets. It is therefore worth considering how this works in practice. The quickest method of disinfection is to spray the bricks with a disinfectant. Depending on the type of detergent, you will need to wipe each brick with a cloth. Washing bricks and larger tiles won’t be a hassle, but for smaller pieces, a bathtub or a children’s wading pool will work well. In that case, you can add a disinfectant or simply soap to the water.
MammuticoFoam™ does not absorb water and dries very quickly, so you won’t have to wait long for clean blocks ready to play with. To speed up the drying process, simply wipe the block’s surface with a dry cloth.
The vast selection of disinfectants makes it impossible for us to test all available products, so we always recommend testing them on a small section of the block first. We haven’t found a product that has damaged the foam’s structure or discolored it, but everyone should test this for themselves.
