The Kulodrom set is a new addition from 2018. When we opened our first location under the BlocoLoco banner in September, we decided that Kulodrom would be one of the four types of building blocks we’d make available for our young guests to play with.
Ball Track – a game that teaches physics
Choosing this set was a bullseye! While other blocks allowed the kids to play freely, building ever-new and elaborate structures, the Ball Track reined in their boisterous energy, encouraging them to pause and think for a moment.
The Kulodrom foam blocks are a set consisting of 34 pieces in 9 different shapes. You can choose from parts with chutes: long and short, high and low, straight and curved, flat and sloped, open and covered. In short, chutes that, in various configurations, allow you to build a track for the balls to roll along.
The Ball Track is a creative and highly engaging set. Not every arrangement of the blocks will allow the ball to roll from start to finish. Young children, who haven’t yet learned the principles of physics, come to simple conclusions on their own while playing. They begin to understand that the start must be higher than the finish, and that a slight slope and too many turns slow down the rolling ball. With this set, the challenge is to build a track that will carry the ball all the way to the end. Just look at the excitement on the children’s faces as they make one attempt after another to reach the goal, and after adjusting the pieces for the twentieth time, they release the ball, hoping it will roll all the way to the end…
A set for education and creative play
The Kulodrom foam block set is perfect for preschools and other educational institutions. Each piece is large enough that it won’t get lost among other toys in the room. In addition, the pieces are very light and durable. Very young children, who don’t yet understand the point of building a track, can use these pieces to build tall towers, tables, stools, or little houses.
