What makes PERFECT stand out?
A big car, the Eiffel Tower, an igloo with a roof, armor, a lounge chair, an airplane, the National Stadium, a castle, chairs, a bookshelf, a tent, a scooter… the list of things you can build with these blocks goes on and on!
“Mammutico blocks aren’t just for fun—they’re a tool that supports the development of fine and gross motor skills.” — Magdalena Wierzańska
With PERFECT™ blocks, you can organize unique construction workshops, engaging physical activities, creative school lessons, and team-building games!
One ingenious block shape, its small size, light weight, and flexible material—these are the elements that make PERFECT™ sets unique!
The PERFECT™ line consists of a single type of block with various fillings. The sets differ from one another only in the number of pieces.
The main feature of these blocks is simplicity. A single shape allows for the creation of endless construction variations! Structures are built in stages as children discover new ways to connect the pieces and the flexibility of the blocks while playing.
When in use, the largest set fills the entire space. Stored against a wall, it takes up very little space.
Each set comes with a guide featuring sample structures and instructions on how to build them. The instructions are a great guide to discovering the blocks’ potential, but above all, they are an ideal tool for activity leaders and teachers.
PERFECT™ blocks, like all Mammutico® products, are great for indoor, outdoor, and water play.
Marta Zielska – social rehabilitation educator, children’s activity leader, mother of three young children
“These sets are great for organizing construction workshops and other creative activities. The pieces are small, lightweight, and safe, so even three-year-olds can easily put them together. Meanwhile, the instructions and sample structures greatly inspire the participants, while also sparking an even greater desire to work.”
Why is one shape so powerful?
Anna Komorowska – landscape architect, podcaster, mother of two
“Preschool directors are concerned about safety and maintenance. PERFECT blocks can reconcile children’s need to build and create their own spaces with adults’ need to ensure a safe place to play.
The main advantage of these blocks is their size, combined with their light weight. Children can build a fairly large structure relatively quickly and fill the entire space with it.”All blocks in the PERFECT™ series are identical. Each measures 49 x 9.8 x 4.9 cm and has 3 holes into which additional blocks can be inserted. The industrial design of the blocks is patented.
Each hole contains a filler measuring 9.8 x 4.9 x 4.9 cm. These additional elements can serve several important functions. The most important of these is the ability to connect two blocks. The second is locking—by inserting the element vertically or horizontally into the block’s holes, we prevent the structure from “spreading apart.” The inserts also serve as decorative elements and effectively reinforce the blocks that form the base of a larger structure.
The blocks are made of flexible foam, so they can be freely bent and twisted, as they will eventually “return” to their original shape.
Below, we present examples of diverse and creative ways to connect the blocks and use the inserts.
This is a set that two people can play with freely.
Children build functional toys or things and objects they see around them from the blocks. What is the difference?
You can play with a functional toy HERE and NOW! In the case of PERFECT™ blocks, the best and simplest example is a sword, and one of the more labor-intensive ones is a house. Among the objects from our surroundings, some are created to please the creator’s own “eye.”
These can be little pieces of furniture, small castles, monsters, little people, or enlarged everyday objects.
It might seem like 40 blocks isn’t that many… But this set allows you to build basically anything that comes to a child’s mind. We even found a way to make a little house—admittedly, a one-person house without a roof, but that’s what imagination is for!
The youngest children build simple and easy things. It’s important that they can play with them right away, because little ones don’t have the patience for complicated structures. They have the most fun with toys they build themselves using just two or three blocks. A hammer, a cross, and a sword are hugely popular. Other interesting ideas include a dragonfly, a vacuum cleaner, an airplane, a small goal, a campfire, and even a simple path…
With 40 blocks, we managed to build, among other things, various animals, dollhouses, a scooter, a helicopter, a motorcycle, an airplane, a boat, armor, little people, and a sturdy (functional) chair with a backrest.
This is a set that four people can easily play with.
Ideas for constructions
This set offers the youngest children virtually unlimited possibilities for free play. Few children under 12 can build structurally complex structures with these blocks without instructions or help from older children. Even adults, without additional hints, didn’t notice many of the connection possibilities!
Our observations show that during unstructured play, children are unable to use all 80 blocks, even though they build whatever they want with great enthusiasm and creativity. However, when they are given instructions or just photos of the structures, their work takes a new direction…
Older children usually start by building a house or a base. The instructions included in the set may come in handy for this. Ideas for “square” objects (armor, chests, furniture, a robot, a giant phone, etc.) also frequently emerge, as well as for more abstract structures created from basic connections.
With this set, we’ve built, among other things, a teepee, famous landmarks like BIG BEN or the Palace of Culture, a toy train with a single car, chairs, stools, and lounge chairs, a little town with houses, and finally a huge gear wheel that can roll across the floor!
This is a set that can easily be played with by eight people.
It’s hard to find any structure that will “use up” all the blocks from the PERFECT 160 set!
It’s a tool for real architects! A group of children who receive instructions to build a large and interesting structure will have their hands full. After all, these aren’t giant blocks, yet they’re used to erect truly massive structures! The work may take a while, but the results will certainly make the effort worthwhile.
While playing with this set, we observed children—and even entire groups—who followed the instructions until they realized, at a certain point, that they had a better use for what they’d built. Then they’d take a new creative direction. Adults rarely came up with such ideas…
Even the simplest instructions give children tips on how to build a wheel for a car, a round roof, an arch, and other non-obvious shapes. At nearly every stage of the instructions for a slightly more complex structure, children can “conjure up” several other interesting objects. The most popular are various bases and houses, and these can be converted from almost all larger structures.
A set consisting of 160 blocks allows you to build, for example, a large tunnel, an igloo, and a house with a roof. We managed to build a whole host of replicas, including the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the National Stadium, the Royal Castle, and the Arc de Triomphe. The list also includes various vehicles that children can climb into and “drive” by holding them up on the sides. The most impressive, however, is the Eiffel Tower reaching the ceiling and a sphere with an opening that can fit as many as three children!
This is a set that sixteen people can easily play with.
This set is designed for sixteen people, but for younger preschoolers, the group can be even larger. Young children don’t have much patience and build objects to play with—that is, small and simple ones.
This set is perfect for organizing creative workshops. There are enough pieces to divide the whole class into groups and hand out instructions. Building a sturdy chair from 30 pieces isn’t as easy or quick as it seems.
The most popular workshop themes include: architecture, modes of transportation, furniture, and everyday objects.
With this set, a larger number of blocks simply means even more structures. It’s difficult to create a single object using all 300 pieces.
The largest structure we’ve built so far with PERFECT™ blocks is the little train shown in the picture below, traveling along tracks laid on a viaduct. 300 blocks are certainly enough to furnish a sample room or plan a small town with streets.
